 Carrying forward the legacy of late Prof. Bhim Singh’s crusade against discrimination and persecution perpetuated upon Talwara (Jammu) migrants, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh former Minister and State President JKNPP vowed to take their fight for justice and rights to its logical conclusion. “We have been fighting for the cause of Talwara migrants since more than two decades. You don’t feel alone after the demise of Prof. Sahib. I along with my partymen shall lead your struggle from roads to Supreme Court and come out victorious with the blessings of God”, asserted Harsh Dev while addressing a mammoth rally of Jammu migrants at Talwara. He was accorded rousing reception by the people amid slogans and drums.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Singh said neglected militancy sufferers from hillocks of Jammu region had been facing hardships since 1998 when scores of poor hand to mouth living families had to flee from their dwellings in mountainous areas. He said that it was only Panthers Party which stood with them in all odds and continued to fight for their justice and rights. He said due to the relentless efforts of late Prof. Bhim Singh and the Panthers Party in the court of law, the Honble Supreme Court of India had directed the govt of J&K to release the relief in the favour of Talwara migrants at par with Kashmiri migrants in the year 2015.  “It is shocking that until now the justice in toto has not been delivered to you. But you should not worry. I feel your pain and agony. I pledge to take the struggle forward and will ensure that you get your share of justice with dignity and honour. I shall leave no stone unturned in order to get justice for you, no matter if I had to knock the doors of court again”, Harsh assured the gathering amid thundering applause.
Meanwhile, the President of Migrants Action Committee(MAC) Mr. Jagdev Singh apprised the NPP leader about their grievances pertaining to the release of cattle feed payment @ Rs300/- per cattle per month as directed by the Honble Sypreme Court of India, the release of 2950 quintals of ration wef April 2015 to December 2015, the release of kerosene oil wef March 2016 till date, the release of pending arrears from 1998 to 2017 at par with Kashmiri migrants as directed by Honble Supreme Court of India, the registration of left out and bifurcated families besides newly born and married family members, the curtailment of power supply, transport facilities to the migrant students from Talwara to Reasi, protection wall to the nallah passing through the colony to save the colony from floods, etc. Mr. Singh gave a patient hearing to the problems of the migrants and assured them that he would take up the matter with the govt and the district administration in particular in coming days.
Mr. Singh further called upon LG for his personal intervention into the miserable plight of the Jammu migrants. He also warned the govt that if the genuine demands of the people were not conceded at the earliest Panthers Party shall come on roads and intensify its stir in favour of the Talwar migrants to ensure justice in the days to come
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Manju Singh, Neelam Devi, Chuni Lal, Balbir Singh, Gagan Pratap Singh, Purshotam Parihar, Desh Rattan Pandita besides others.
